Our Vision
What is a Maths Hub?
The core purpose of the Maths Hubs Programme, coordinated by the NCETM, is to help schools and colleges lead improvement in mathematics education in England. Maths Hubs seek to harness all the maths leadership and expertise within an area, to develop and spread excellent practice, for the benefit of all pupils and students. They are part of the wider development of school-led system leadership in England.
Each Maths Hub is made up of a partnership of schools, colleges and other organisations working together to provide support for maths teaching in a particular region of England.
A hub’s work takes many forms and includes face-to-face CPD and online support. Every hub runs several projects each year which enable teachers and teaching assistants to work collaboratively with the support of local leaders of maths education (LLMEs).
The Yorkshire Ridings Maths Hub
We are the Yorkshire Ridings Maths Hub, based at Harrogate Grammar School in North Yorkshire.
Our Hub works to provide the best possible support for schools in the North Yorkshire, York and East Riding Local Authority Districts.
We work in collaboration with other local Maths Hubs to meet the needs of all schools across the region, so please don’t hesitate to contact us if you are close to a border.
The Maths Hubs programme brings together mathematics education professionals in a national network of Hubs, each locally led by an outstanding school or college, working in partnership with neighbouring schools, colleges, universities, CPD providers, maths experts and employers.
